My Brother was asked to be the engineer for the new WTC, and he was there until he retired. He said that it is quite the building. He was in Paris on 09/11/2001, and it took him 27 hours to get home, via Delta through Atlanta. He got the flight from Paris on Friday, as his original scheduled flight was to be the following Wednesday. He lost many friends, as they were in meetings in the building. They lost 10% of the field engineers that day. The Liberty Mutual engineers were in a meeting, when the plane struck the tower. Some had been in the building during the 1993 truck explosion in the garage, and when they felt the building shake, they got up, and left the meeting. The director of the meeting asked them where they were going, and the reply was, "We're leaving." They were the only ones to survive that particular meeting.
