Remembering Yogi Berra

Remembering Yogi Berra

Most of his Yogisms are either paradoxical or obviously redundant. But so-called Yogisms weren't always uttered by the World Series champion.

"I never said some of the things I said," he once said.

Here are some of his most memorable Yogisms that actually came from the Hall of Famer:

"It ain't over till it's over."

"It's déjà vu all over again."

"When you come to a fork in the road ... take it."

"I usually take a two-hour nap from 1 to 4."

"Never answer an anonymous letter."

"I didn't really say everything I said."

"I want to thank you for making this day necessary."

"I always thought the record would stand until it was broken."

"We made too many wrong mistakes."

"You can observe a lot by watching."

"The future ain't what it used to be."

"It gets late early out here."

"If the world were perfect, it wouldn't be."

"If the people don't want to come out to the ballpark, nobody's going to stop them."

"Pair up in threes."

"Why buy good luggage? You only use it when you travel."

Then, there's my favorite, uttered in a fancy New York restaurant: "Nobody ever eats here anymore. It's too crowded."

Played the game when players really did not play for the money. Played for the love of the game.

Little while before my time, never had the chance to see him play. No doubt one of the greatest old school players of all time. That's what is wrong with MLB today.

R.I.P. Yogi!!
