2015 Elderberry Wine Success :)

What a difference a year makes. Last year the Elderberry Wine was harsh and made drinkable by adding sugar. This year smooth, tasty and no additional sugar necessary.

This is one of 2 batches and filled 28 bottles. Iíll bottle up the others in a couple of weeks time. I now have enough wine that I can start storing wine for years before opening it. Itís suppose to get better with age right?

Might be a couple of years. Next year I want to plant some apple trees, and some Rhubarb. Over the winter I'm going to look into seeing if this area will grow grapes.

Me too. Free at jamlabelizer.com

Looks like I'm in the proper zone to grow apples. I want to sink 3 Granny Smith Apple Trees next April. There's lots of apple trees around for the free picking, and they make acceptable wine, but Granny or Crabapples are suppose to be the best. And when I buy apples Granny's are my favorite.

Here is about 15 gallons Apple wine that is coming along nicely (maybe ~70 bottles), and next ~30 bottles of Elderberry. Initial measurements tell me this wine should be over 13% ABV. This Elderberry is at the low end around 10% ABV.

This is a lot of wine.

Last year I had enough success to encourage me to go forward. Now, I'm really motivated. Ammo is a good barter item, especially after the Newtown incident. Wine is always good, and pretty much with everybody.

This is an 8 to 10 $ bottle of wine. It cost me 40 to 50 cents, if I discount my time to 0, and I do.

Success has its rewards. Tis good to have a roaring fire, and a glass of good wine, while looking out at the falling snow.
