My thought is that Guantanamo will be emptied and the Guantanamo base facility will be turned over to the Cuban Government by the end of Barry's rule. That will finally make Cuba a whole country again! Our socialist friends deserve to be made whole again!

After brief detention in the UAE, those men can return to achieving what goals they had before their terrible incarceration by the United States Government!

You make a good point about them getting back into the terrorism business, Ole, but don't blame the President. He has been wanting to transfer them to a maximum security prison in the US for almost nine years, but the Congress has consistently blocked that action. If they come back and start killing Americans, we should put the blame right where it belongs: on the Congress.

I also do not want them in a prison on U.S. soil. Not good IMO. Please don't give me one of those long "Richard" dissertations. That is the way I feel, no explanation needed by me, my opinion, my right!

When Barry can explain his past comment how Islam is "Woven into the Fabric of Our Country Since Founding" then I might listen to him and believe what he says. Then there was the directive for NASA to promote all the good things Muslims have done for the world.......I could go on and on but I've already gone on more than I like to.

I do not like the man's politics and do not trust him at all. That is my priviledge for now! JMHO

Hmm . . . No dissertation needed to ask if you believe that anybody has ever escaped from the federal prison in Florence, CO? You know . . . the place where other terrorists and wannabe terrorists are kept locked up for a lot less taxpayer money than keeping Guantanamo open.

I know three guys escaped from the "unescapable" Alcatraz in 1962.....so anything is possible....LOL!

We have less an issue with folks escaping than we do with others just releasing animals into the general population or sending them back to their country of origin for release......IMO!

I heard last night that Georgia has refused to take any (more) Syrian refugees. Yay, states rights!

Doesn't mean CA and NY won't take in a couple hundred thousand who will then move here (Lewiston ME familiar?).

History of the Somalis in Maine and History of the Bantus in Maine

In 1999, the United States government began preparations to resettle an estimated 12,000 refugees from the Bantu minority ethnic group in Somalia to select cities throughout the United States. Most of the early arrivals in the United States settled in Clarkston, Georgia, a city adjacent to Atlanta. However, they were mostly assigned to low rent, poverty-stricken inner city areas, so many began to look to resettle elsewhere in the U.S.

Word soon spread that Lewiston had a low crime rate, good schools and cheap housing. Somalis subsequently began a secondary migration from other states to the former mill town, and after 2005, many Bantus followed suit.

In October 2002, then-Mayor Laurier T. Raymond wrote an open letter addressed to leaders of the Somali community, predicting a negative impact on the city's social services and requesting that they discourage further relocation to Lewiston. The letter angered some persons and prompted some community leaders and residents to speak out against the mayor, drawing national attention. Demonstrations were held in Lewiston, both by those who supported the immigrants' presence and those who opposed it.
Apparently, some 26 OTHER states have also told the Feds to stop it!
