Think you are a good shot?

I was visiting an outdoor range today and saw a man do something I thought was good shooting.

He was using a semi handgun, caliber unknown and shooting at what was said to be 25 feet.

The guy had two long grooved boards. Each groove was maybe 1/4 inch wide and ran the length of each board.

He placed some colored disks about the size of a half dollar. Then he shot each disk in order. I never saw him miss one.

One thing is for sure. I could not do that.

Give yourself credit. You could do that with enough practice and instruction, assuming you don't have a medical issue (bad vision, etc.) I would love to have tried that 25 years ago when I could see well.

But more to your point, that is some good shooting.

Yeah, I'd call that good shooting. Some days I'm adequate, some days I'm not so adequate but I'm never good.

I hope I never need to be adequate, but that's why we practice. I'd love to be good.

I would love to be that big of a stud shooter, but at the moment not even close to that..

I'm happy to hit a beer coaster at 25 yards and will practice my Irish arse off to get better with each and every range session...

IMO....If you can hit a target the size of a human body from the waist up at 10 yards you shouldn't worry too much....He will go down....

Practice-Practice-Practice....

Dude, if you can hit a beer coaster at 25 yards (75 feet) you're already good, as far as I'm concerned.

That's with a very accurate 6 inch Blackhawk revolver btw.....

I can hit the coaster with any of my 1911's just not as consistent.....Maybe twice per mag....Not really a good batting average to me...

I had to look it:
An average beer coaster is 3.5" diameter
A half dollar is just over an 1.205" diameter

This guy is shooting at 25' and you're shooting at 75' so if you take the half dollar out to 3 times the distance he's shooting at and triple it's size to 3.615 you're actually out shooting him.

Damn, you're better then good, you need to have Gigi shoot some video I'd love to see it.
