ARE they watching? 👀

While watching an episode of ID (Investigation Discovery) an FBI agent tracked the location of a kidnap victim from a cell phone pic taken by the kidnapper. He said it is a little known fact that your cell phone pics contain concealed GPS coordinates of you location. So all the pics of our guns can be traced to the location the photo was taken. Is this a rebuttable assumption . Who can verify or debunk this troubling revelation? 😧

I know my camera will embed GPS info into the pictures, but only if the GPS is turned on. I'm thinking same thing for the phone camera - GPS would have to be turned on?

Meta data is common with digital pictures. GPS is becoming more so also. I'm pretty sure the meta data is not included in say sharing a picture on a website.

Some images don't show much data but jpegs in particular carry a lot of data with them even shared. For example, I just looked at an image from a recent post https://www.kimbertalk.com/forums/par...ips-ultra.html and it shows the date taken, camera type, focal length ISO and if there were coordinates, those would have shown too.

One executive order could change that.
