CC Revolvers

Before the proliferation and availability of compact and sub compact auto pistols did you carry a wheel gun? What, where, when and how?
My first pocket rocket was a S&W 340 PD; still have.image.jpeg

My first gun was given to me by my father back in 1985 and it was a S&W Model #60 38 special....

I worked the freight docks in N.St Lou and my hours were midnight to whenever they told me to go home..My father was worried that on my drive to work something bad might happen and he wanted me to be able to protect myself...

It was never carried as a conceal carry gun, more of a under the seat/glove box type...

I had it around a year or so before he took it back saying that the drug running crowd that I was hanging with as a 23 year old would get me killed before anyone near the docks would and he didn't want that gun being on his conscience if something bad were to happen...

Anyway, the 60 had wood grips like the one in the pic and I bought another last year with the Hogue rubber grips...

I used to carry a Chiefs special. Now I carry a 638 Bodyguard. I like carrying a revolver in my pocket.

I'm a revolver guy. Always have been, always will be. The majority of my handguns are revolvers, and I've carried them regularly over the years.

This is my favorite. Smith & Wesson 65-3 3 inch.

Didn't really conceal carry until I got the permit. But before CC days I always had either a Charter Arms Bulldog .44spl or one of the first compact 3" barrel .45's. A Detonics Combat Master. Showing pic of Detonics before and after Cerakote refinish. The .45 in IWB or in my back pocket or Bulldog in a coat pocket.

How many rounds does that Detonics revolver hold?

Not sure which you want to know about.
Five rounds Bulldog revolver.
SIX Plus One in Chamber Detonic's .45acp.

But I would carry Full size 8 round mags as spares.

Well since the original question was about revolvers....I guess the correct answer is five, but I knew that.

Yeah, that's why I included the Bulldog, I used both. Sometimes I had three 5 round speedloaders with the .44spl.

Very nice revolvers all of them. Always liked the bulldog, great round. 2Sharp how old is the Detonics? I had one of the first ones around 73 or so but the guy I got it from messed with it and it wouldn't feed anything, got rid of it for my Colt Commander. Steve that Smith is beautiful and don't they shoot great ! Good balance.
