LGS, Good Grief

I stopped in to look at some knives. Got to handle some Alaskan's, most notable the Brown Bear. It's almost a hatchet.

Stopped by the Gun Dept, and asked to see a Sig P226. Was told they didn't have any, that they were nearly out of Sigs, that they only have a few P230s. I asked, "selling like hot cakes, eh?" Nope, just hard to get lately. Then I looked down and there is a Sig P226.

Guy says that's not a P226, it's an MK-25. But that is a P226, a special model of the P226, and there was a P227 right next to it. Good Grief. As I was walking away the guy says, "Sorry about that". "Hey, don't worry about it". What I thought to say, and didn't, was "Hey, don't worry about it, after all you only work here!". Where do they find these employees?

Sad commentary...I've seen this played out at auto and motorcycle dealerships, too. Maybe you should have ask about pricing and who knows...that might have resulted in the bargain of your lifetime!

"If you give a good price on this Mk-25 I will come back for a 226 when you get them."

It's like that everywhere you go. I have to deal with so called Senior Loan Specialist at different Credit Unions in town that have never had a loan themselves. They are mostly 20 year old girls that their previous job was Cheese or no Cheese.

Like auto parts stores. Clerks that couldn't take a part anything mechanical. Absolutely zero knowledge of cars and trucks and if it's not in a catalogue or on the computer they just don't know. Ain't life grand !

It's even worse when they give you the "I know it all" act instead of just saying "I'm not sure. Let me get someone who can answer this better."

Wink My 2 Cents Worth!!

Might I suggest that you have a talk with the LGS owner, Monty? The owner needs to know that he has an employee that is not qualified. If the employee is new, he should be more closely supervised and educated. If he is not new, he needs to be to be terminated. He is costing his employer money and ruining his business reputation!!

Merely my very humble opinion!! YMMV!!
