Airplane Travel

Leaving LA ON THE 26th. I have researched the requirements to travel with my firearm. My question is how much of a PIA it is to do this? Anybody travel lately? Thanks!

Did you purchase a pistol while in LA? Did you drive down there with one and flying back? I would probably got to FFL and have them ship to your FFL?

Call the airline and ask them what's required. A guy at the range was talking about a trip he made with a gun and said it was actually easier then he thought it would be. Because he was traveling with a gun they walked him out of line and basically did an express check in with him.

Would you be able to have gun in your possession while on plane? I am sure it would have to be in some type of approved lock box? I had just thought gun would have to be with all luggage.

Whatever you do,DO NOT attempt to go through the security checkpoint with a firearm on you or in your carry on luggage. You will be arrested and lose the gun.

You have to put it in your checked baggage in a separately locked box. Also, no ammo can be in the same box as the gun. When checking your bag, identify it to the agent and let them know that you are checking a bag with a gun in it. It's not as bad as people make it sound.
