Like all good stuff " Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I bought a generator and my wife was wondering "why we needed it?" but when hurricane Ike rolled through our area and the power was out for 3 days, I was the smartest guy in the neighborhood.....LOL!

Got to love those California earthquakes, I've been thinking about investing in some ocean front property in Nevada for my grandchildren.

I've had a nice generator for quite some time now, and have had to use it several times over the last couple of years. The big cost is having a transfer switch installed on your main. I can run my entire cabin with my 5600W Genny. It sure is nice to continue living in comfort and more importantly keeping the deep freezer going during extended blackouts.

Nothing wrong with a good quake now and then, shakes things up. Ha ha.
And let's be honest there is a whole lot of LA, SF, Sac and other coastal areas that the best thing for it is total destruction. As long as the ballparks are left standing, I'm good with it.
Of course I'm kidding, would not wish that on anyone. But if you could remove everyone but the "progressive" politicians and the people who vote for them, then level it and use the 100,000 plus welfare people(yes I know that number is very low)to rebuild it, might be a good thing.

And of course let's not forget that communist haven Berkeley, love for it to be leveled along with that red university they got.

Never thought in a million years that Oklahoma would be on par with California on the number of earthquakes.

Did that so one flip of a switch and 7 of the most important circuits(to us) are powered. It's much better than running a couple extension cords....LOL!

I started a stand alone solar system but stopped halfway through when I realized I wasn't as smart as I thought I was. Got my NABCEP certification but I still don't feel comfortable doing it myself.

Tank those thoughts are callous and cruel what in the world are you thinking? There's a million hot women in California making porn films and that could wipe them out for gosh sakes. We'd be back to 40s and 50s New York porn with the guys in black sox and the black bands over their eyes. Please stop and think before you speak. Now with Berkely, they should ALL be lobotomized at graduation...........just a thought
