Texas shooting

Sorry, I haven't figured out the art of posting links on KT.
I just noticed an article about a shooting in Arlington, thought it would interest some here. The gist of the piece is that a witness to a domestic dispute, T.J. Antell, was killed.
The dispute between a man and woman escalated to tho point where the man fired a few shots at the woman's feet. One of the shots hit her foot, she ran in a nearby store. The shooter retreated to his vehicle but before he could leave, Antell, who had seen what happened grabbed his gun and tried to stop him. He was shot in the head and died.
The article is in the Washington Post and has a fairly anti gun slant. if anyone can link it, please do.

Thank's Chuck

Yup, that's the article. I don't get it. Antell had been a Marine, shouldn't he have known better?

No problem Mark. Unfortunately he allowed the offender to get close enough to him to slap his gun away and then shoot him in the head.

...why would he approach the shooter in the first place? Take cover, have your gun ready, yah. Approach the irate shooter with your gun visible, NO.
The expression "don't point your finger at crazy people" comes to mind.

No disrespect to Marines here but there's more to the statement. They run to the fire no Into the fire. His heart was in the right place, he just made a mistake that cost him his life.

I don't know, here we go again. I feel bad for the marine that was killed but he should've used a little common sense. He maybe should've gone to help the woman shot and called the Leo's and let them do their job tracking down and apprehending the shooter. A conceal weapons holder is not authorized to chase down and arrest criminals; they are only allowed to stop an immediate threat. The guy who shot him may be able to claim self-defense since he was approached by the Marine with a gun. The incident with the previous shooting was over with and he was leaving. If you pull your concealed weapon you must be the defender not the aggressor.
