The doc said, "Chico, I'm afraid we must cut again..."

And then he smirked, "But this time, it's your green bracelet--I'm releasing you to 'active.' Your eye has completely healed..."

My wife and I sat dumbfounded. "I thought you said it would be six months"

"Yes, from the first injury, it is. I even allowed a bit more time to make sure everything was sealed completely. Go back to your life!"

We continued our discussion. He suggested I ease into my normal routine. Treadmill first, steps to follow. I countered with light cable weights until I feel comfortable. He agreed. Technically there are no restrictions, we just both want to be prudent.

Then the big one--did this miracle also include motorcycles? "Yes," he said, "But you first go out in daylight, twenty miles to start, make sure you can see fully to both sides..."

If I ever wanted to kiss a little four foot, six inch Ghurka, that was the moment! Right now my pupils will still be wide open until late tomorrow afternoon and I'll still be wearing sunglasses while indoors.

But I'm no longer a patient--at least for two weeks until the follow-up exam--and more to the point, GoingSolo has the slim hope that he will see his knife before Hillary assumes office!

And I went to Perkins and had pancakes--with butter! Yikes, you have no idea how great this feels...

I wasn't exactly sure what a Ghurka was, and google came up with this. Not advisable to be kissing this one. Not sure about yours, but caution is called for...

I was never so happy in offering my personal wrist for a slice...

Yeah, that's him. He usually wears scrubs when not guarding the Khyber Pass.

...isn't it funny that they're all 'cutters' no matter what job they choose...

Edit: Yikes, that's the first time I actually saw myself since the haircut. I have long thick hair, but with the eye it was a pain to wash. So I told my barber to just "shave it off" so I could go another three months! Yikes! I have no hair!

TOLD him to offer to sharpen the guy's kukri (sp?) -- he probably has one!

He did sharpen it, just before the doctor operated with it.

Great news! I'm sure those words from the doc sounded great in your ears.

I'm kidding about the knife. It has been polished a bit.

If you ever talk to 'Resident, you'll know I'm at that magical moment where "too much" might make whisker marks.

I just got back from the mall, my pupils are still huge. But on the bright side, I will actually be able to see your knife while I'm working on it...

It feels like a No Time Off model, which is a great folder. I cannot wait to see just exactly what it is...LOL

Edit: Thanks guys--and gal. I know I have not been myself, but you'd be amazed at how fast you can rebound when you're not scared to death! I do appreciate the support, and all of you will be in my prayers
