Jeh Johnson - Gun control is now a matter of homeland security

We should be trying to figure out how the shooter in Orlando could pass a background to be a security guard for a DHS connected company? They need to control the border so we know what(people and hardware) is coming in to this country!

Yes, gun control IS a matter of homeland security. My homeland will never be secure as long as politicians are trying to disarm me!

Get ready for this to become the "mother of all" politicized issues in the next few months. Any noise the Democrats can make will get made. We may need to start walking around with our range ears on. Wouldn't surprise me if Barry, being the egomaniac he is, does something using his "executive authority" to tide us by till the bills they're drawing up as I type are done and the Supreme Court is back in tact?

Hardly. Sandy Hook had half as many victims, but the tragedy was far worse. Obama has no power to put into place any short term or meaningful gun control measures. Especially with a GOP controlled house and senate, and the GOP nominee making protecting the 2nd amendment a platform issue. Its all media hype to spin up gun control as something as other then DOA.

...Just saw that today Barry has called for the ban on "assault weapons" to be reinstated as well as "no fly no buy" :-)

Charles Schumer:“If the FBI believes there is a reasonable chance someone is going to use a gun in a terrorist attack, it should be able to make that determination and block the sale,”

Not sure if vertical would be considered a "slope" but this sure looks slippery to me.

I'm surprised he's not looking for the ban to be reinstated? There's probably some underlying reason we won't realize until it's too late. I'd want to read anything he's involved with creating closely, he's as good as they come with the old bait and switch.

Dear Mr Johnson,

The incompetence of the Obama Administration is not the fault of the Bill of Rights and my right to keep and bear arms.

The Islamic extremist terrorists, Boston Bombers, were brought to the attention of the Obama Administration. Failed investigation and follow up. Result - dozens dead and injured.

Tashfeen Malik (San Bernadino) Islamic extremist terrorist was posting on social media for years that she wanted to wage jihad on America. Still, the Obama Administration issued her a visa to come to America. Failed investigation. Result - dozens dead an injured.

The Orlando Islamic extremist terrorist was brought to the attention of the Obama Administration. Failed investigation and follow up. Result - Over 100 dead and injured.

The Obama Administration has allowed a "JV Team" of radical Islamist terrorists to take over a significant portion of the ME due a misguided withdrawal from Iraq, unleashing a global jihad. Result - Just look around.

The Bill of Rights is not the problem.....
