Great day to get out to the range

I headed over to my favorite outdoor range today with the Leader of the Opposition and one of her friends. Turned about 250 rounds of various calibers into smoke, noise and empty brass. The wife & here friend shot about another 100-125 rounds. 68 degrees and fair. We don't get too many days like that in SE Texas.

My weaponry for the day was

A) Colt SAA P1856 in .45 Colt
B) S&W Model 65-3 (.357 Mag)
C) S&W Model 60-9 (.357 Mag)
D) Kimber TLE Custom II Stainless (.45 ACP)
E) Kimber TLE Ultra II Stainless (.45 ACP)

My wife was using hers:
A) Walther PPS M2 (9MM)
B) S&W SD9VE (9MM)
C) Ruger SP101 (using .38 Spl)

Thought about hauling out the AR and a few other armaments, but decided not to get too carried away.

Sounds like a lot of fun.

It sounds like you had a great time, outdoor ranges are as scarce as hens teeth in my area.

Yesterday certainly was a good day to get out. What outdoor range do you go to Longhorn ? I've been looking around for a good one to try.

I go to Brazos River Sportsman's Club out between Weston Lakes & Simonton. Leigh John, the owner is a good old boy. He has a good sized ranch right on the river.

I forgot what part of Houston you're in. I have shot at Hot Wells on 290 and at ASC by West Oaks. Haven't been to either in a few years, but they weren't bad. Carters Country in Spring does not have a good reputation at all, especially among the AR-15 crowd. I shot there once, but it was almost 30 years ago. There are several others in greater Houston, but I have no experience with them.
