The Addiction Continues

Ever since AZGuy1911 put his Wilson Combat Sentinel up for sale, I've been noodling over buying a WC handgun. I've traded some PMs with John and he has given me some valuable info learned from his purchase experiences. One problem with Wilson Combat firarms is there is not a lot to be found in the form of Youtube videos, reviews, or even LGSs that have some you can actually go in and hold in your hand. In Houston, we have a LGS that has an amazing inventory of firearms both new and used, and I have been able to go in and hold the models I am interested in. I've also called WC customer service and had a fantastic conversation with one of their reps, giving me a wealth of information, including build data for one used one I have been looking at. Jury is still out as to whether I will seek to find an new instock model online, a used one, or take the plunge and special order one from WC. Wait time on builds are in the 6 month range right now.

There are a large audience of folks that question actual value of such an expensive firearm, but resale values do tend to hold up pretty well, and their (WC) warranty is lifetime.

In the course of doing my research, I've also found another Dan Wesson model that I'm warming up to..... will this addiction ever diminish ?? I'm rather doubting that right now

All it takes is money. Buy both of them!

I've ruled out the Ultralight Carry Sentinel because the grip is just a tad short. I'm now focusing on the Ultralight Carry Compact in 9mm

That looks like the EDC X9. There are a lot of good reviews. Folks seem to like them because of the magazine capacity, but I'm more of a single stack 1911 fan.

I don't doubt the value of WC but I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on 1 gun. Maybe I'm just cheap but I can't do it.

They are fine looking pistols but I'd worry too much about scratching the thing :-)
...for what it's worth they're made in Arkansas and I believe also Nighthawks? There's another boutique 1911 made a few miles away from WC. A ticket on Southwest from Houston to Little Rock is pretty cheap and takes an hour or so, from there it's a few hour drive to the town. You could go right to the source...
