accidental discharge inside

I about freaked. I carry condition 1, when in the wilderness, and usually empty the pistol outside when I get home. Today I forgot. I was removing the holster first, and it slipped out of my hands, bounced off the ottoman, thru the slotted railing, and fell about 6 feet onto the carpeted stairs. *** Gasp ***

The gun did not fire, but Good Lord!!!

Wow, I guess that's one way to test the safeties on your gun. Seriously thank god they worked and no damage was done or anyone hurt.

I keep my EDC in condition 1 all the time. When I get home I take holster and gun off as one. And then lay in on table, never taking gun out of the holster. Same when I put it on in the morning. Hopefully if I ever drop mine the holster Will help keep anything bad from happening. I am very glad your gun didn't discharge.

I am pretty much like Zoomy, my EDC becomes my "house/nightstand" gun when I get home and is always in condition 1 unless it is being cleaned.

Glad it was a "non-event" accident and no body was injured.

Only revolvers do I keep a live round in the chamber.

This happened with my Colt XSE, that has upgraded Wilson Combat bullet-proof parts and a WC trigger job. Might have played a part in not firing, or maybe I'm just paranoid. Seemed like to close a call considering how safe I usually am and always try to be.

Glad everything is fine, know how you feel, I had a AD with a lever action winchester 3030. Just a youngster at the time, 15 I think, I was unloading it after a morning deer hunt and blew a hole in the ground when my sleeve caught the trigger while racking out the shells. First lesson learned was my safety training stuck. Gun was pointed in a safe direction! My second lesson I learned the hard way, no loose clothing while unloading a lever action firearm. Anyways, glad everything's ok.

Your not paranoid, it's called being responsible. You obviously had done everything you should to keep anything bad from happening. You dropped your gun and didn't shoot anyone. You sharing your story will make rest of us think what would happen if we dropped ours.
