Range report for the new AR15

Both the upper and lower were bought from Runner Runner Guns in Mckinney Texas. Owned and operated by veterans. Good folks, great service.

Barrel: 16" nitride, 1/7 twist 5.56

Optics: Vortex Diamondback 4-12 X 40mm on a Burris PEPR mount. Burris Fastfire III red dot on top.

Ammo: 120 rounds of Federal Independence 55gr, 40 rounds Hornady Superformance Match 75gr

Gun shot great. It was the first time I had a chance to take it out and shoot it since I bought it about 3 or 4 months ago. Had a small issue with the 10rd magazines (Magpul P-Mag Gen 3). At full capacity the first round didn't want to chamber. Removed first round from each mag and no issues after that. Once the gun had about 80-100 rounds through it, I loaded the mags back to full capacity and no problems. Just needed a little braking in I guess.

Bottom right hand side of target was where I zeroed the red dot at about 10-12 yards. It was shooting low right off the bat. Dialed it up a bit and the rest were pretty close to dead on. The other sections of the target were zeroing the scope in at 50 yards. I was a little shaky from working out right before but I think the zero is decent.

Not great shooting but fun as hell!! 160 rounds is never dull. When the weather is better I'll take it to an outdoor range where I can see a little better. The indoor range I was at is dark as hell IMO.

Nice shooting! I am new to this AR rifle thing. I have a question. Why do you need a 4-12 scope and a Red Dot sight, scope what ever it is called?
Is it red dot for closer range targets and scope for longer range!

300 yards is gonna be a stretch there brotha, lol....
I will however, do a 200 yard zero because 50 and 200 are pretty close with 5.56......we shall see

And thanks, by sweet looking I know you mean scarey looking....whaaaaaaat

Looks great brother, shooting that good out of the box is impressive. When you get outdoors and fire it a bit more, you will enjoy it even more.
