Which Ruger SR1911?

I'm undecided which one to buy. I know a lot of you smart types will say buy both! Well I could buy both but at this moment I don't want to buy both. I don't need either but that's never stopped me before. I do not own a Ruger 1911. The 4.25 inch barrel Commander Style in .45acp caliber weighs 36oz, has been on my "To Buy List" for probably a year, always liked how it looked, it has a MSRP $939.00 but not counting shipping I can get a used one for $600-650.
Today I was checking the Ruger website to verify the model number on the Commander and a found a New offering. A SR1911 Officer Style Model 6762 .45acp caliber MSRP $979.00 it has a 3.6 inch barrel, weighs 27oz. If you know me at all then you know how I feel about Big Bore's and Short Barrels and or Ultra size 1911's. I like this one too. Can get online not counting shipping in the $750 range. It's not really about the money. Oh they both ship with 2 magazines.
I don't have a plan for either one to become anything more than a range pistol but who knows.

Sorry I can't speak to the "little" versions but I do have a full size SR1911 and I really like it. It came with a sweet trigger and shoots really well. I did trade out the stock grips (don't we all?) for some VZ G10s I thought that it was crying out for black grips to match the rest of the black hardware. I also added a Wilson mag well. I think you'll like the Ruger. I got mine to help fill out my 1911 collection of Kimber, Colt, Sig, and now Ruger.

I think there's a lightweight version in 45 along with the 9mm. Titanium feed ramp built into the aluminum frame for durability. I almost bought the 9mm but got the Kimber Pro Carry two tone instead. Still want the Ruger, but probably in 45.

If it were me I would buy the short barrel one. I love the looks of that one.

I've got the commander. It has a great trigger and is very accurate. If it's only going to be used at the range and not carried the extra weight is a plus.

I'm with you there, I like the all stainless commander which I still have my sights set on in the future.
