Sig P938

I’m currently testing out a few firearms to see what will be my daily carry piece. This Sig is in the running. It started out as a stock P938 ASE model. I swapped out all of the black controls for stainless, which includes the slide catch, ambi safety, mag catch, mainspring housing, trigger, and some pins. I also replaced the two-piece guide rod with a one piece stainless, and swapped out the walnut grips for a Hogue. I’ll be trying out how the new W Engineering trigger feels this Wednesday. There’s a threaded barrel available for this guy, so I think I’ll go down the suppressor route at some point with it.

BTW, check into their .22LR conversion kit. I believe they offer one for the 938, it is similar to the Kimber version.

I recently installed a W Engineering Aluminum Trigger on my 938 and it’s a very nice addition. I also installed a Galloway trigger return spring and a hammer spring. The trigger is 5.1- 5.5lbs.

Nice work Aribus, I'm running W Engineering triggers in both my Sig P938 and P238 and love them.

Ya' know, I pass Cabela's on the way to the cafe' and gs station. I'm going to see if they have a 938 in .22LR for me.

Then you can teach me about triggers.

I was having a tough time trying to get the trigger pivot pin out. It’s apparently notoriously difficult. I ended up using some Kroil and let it sit for a couple of hours. A couple of thwacks on a brownells #3 punch and tada.

Now that I think about it, can you buy a new P938 that is already a .22LR, or does it always come 9x19mm and you have to buy the conversion kit as an accessory?

My P938 wearing her .22LR conversion unit. This is their 4" "Target" model, I believe they also offer a fixed sight version in 3" bbl length also, although I've been unable to unearth one.

This conversion unit is just as accurate as both my Kimber 3" compact and 5" standard conversion units.

My Kimber 3" compact unit doing what does very well......

A 9mm or .45 caliber pistol sure takes on a new life when it's got a .22LR upper, and they sure are beaucoup fun!

Thank you. I think I'll drop by Cabela's.
