Revolver Followed Me Home

Technically bought this on March 5th placed a bid on GB didn't expect to hold up, arrived at FFL last Saturday, decided to wait until today to pick it up. Wife and I left this past Monday for the Hard Rock Hotel/Casino Biloxi MS. Got home late last night.

I have a few in .44spl caliber but didn't have this particular S&W model a 696-1 with 3" barrel and what makes it different is it's a 5-shot. It don't look like it was fired much. I think it will clean up nice. The rubber grips will be placed in the factory case. I have some Culina walnut finger groove combat stocks to put on it. Oh winning bid was 772. Probably just be a target revolver cause it's a little heavy even if it does just have 5 shots.
Yes, I will have to make a place for it in the safe.

Nice pick up there 2. I'm a big revolver fan and my S&Ws are some of my favorite shooters. I love my Model 13, 3" K-frame, RB, .357. It's pretty old school for sure and even with the fixed sights it's easy to hit with. I've owned it for over 30 years … I picked it up at a pawn shop for $250.00.

Just recently gifted it with a fresh set of VZ-G10 finger groove grips. I hope your new "round gun" provides you as many great days as my three-incher has for me.

Did someone say "Smith 3"?

Congrats there, Arland! Nice find indeed. My very good friend at Leupold packs that exact revolver daily and loves it. He's got a great Keith .44Spl load that prints like a BR rifle for it too. Those are practical, sweet guns.

One of my favorite three inchers is my M29 Clasic Hunter .44 Mag with unfluted cylinder. Great for packing in the woods when elk hunting, but right now it's handy, as we've got a mountain lion stalking the edges of town and the Fish 'n Fur wants it killed.

I too love those 3" round guns. Enjoy that new to you Smith! Great find!
