She's a Shooter!! Range Report - Sig 1911 Ultra Compact .45

Finally got the new addition to the range to do a little break-in and see how she does. Sig Sauer 1911 Ultra Compact 45. Ran flawlessly, no FTEs, no FTFs, just ate em up and shot em out. I thought it might be a handful but not at all. Got about 300 rnds through her, so she's been added to the available carry gun stall.

My Kimber 1911 Classic Stainless (90's era) has had a bit of work and has a little over a 2.5lb trigger. So fun to shoot. I had been shooting that for so long, that going to a ~5lb trigger was a bit different shall we say. The 2nd picture below is the first magazine shot with a rest. The 3rd picture is a few magazines in after I really started to refocus on the pulling through and not yanking as I was initially.

All in all, an awesome day with great results. Love the new addition. Definitely a shooter, and probably my favorite carry.

With my Micro 9, I took a real liking to one of the N82 Tactical IWB holsters. So I went on and bought one for the Ultra. Same satisfaction - very comfortable.

I'm usually found in flip flops and basketball style (draw string/elastic) shorts w/tee shirt. So finding something that works with shorts was important. The N82 Tactical works perfect, and keeps the entire gun off your skin - very comfy!

Nice, I have always heard good things about Sig 1911s. Borrowed and shot one once, and it shot well and had no issues at all.

Congratulations, I own a couple of Sig 1911 and think they're great guns.

Glad to see the Sig Ultra performing well.

Replacing the factory grips looks great. Any plans for the Flash Gordon stuff on the slide?

Thanks, first time with that aggressive of grips - really like them a lot!

Major plans for the slide are in order... I'm having the tribal flames highlighted with some reds and florescent yellows. I just can't decide whether to do that just to the sides or the top too

Is this the one that came with the black grips and that slide design on them?

I like the new grips!
