Biggest Pistol I Own

S&W 500Magnum 4inch barrel. Why, you ask? I don't know, was always intrigued by them, longer barreled models way to heavy IMO. The 4 inch is heavy, muzzle heavy enough but it's not like I'm going to conceal carry it. It had been fired 7 times the empty cases was in the box with the rest of the ammo.

Oh the cartridge with the silver case is a .44 Magnum. Other is 500Magnum.

I never shot a 500 but I did shoot the 460 out of an 8”+ barrel and it was awesome. The 500 is the most powerful handgun available...what’s not to like. Congratulations.

A couple of years ago, I picked up a fired 500 S&W Casing off the ground at the range and decided that I wanted the Gun that it fit. And so I bought a 8" 500.
Eventually I decided to sell the 500 and replace it with a 460 since it will fire 45 Colt, and 454 Casull in addition to the 460s. I love shooting my 5" 460V.

Nice REVOLVER.
460 being the fastest pistol cartridge in the world and over 2000 ft./s. And the option to fire all the cartridges you listed. Awesome!

My wrist hurt thinking about what a S&W 500 4" revolver would feel like shooting it.

I have a lowly S&W 629 Classic 8 3/8 inch barrel 44 Magnum in polished stainless. I bought it after watchin "Dirty Harry" one night and thought it would be a novelty BUT I love to shoot it. It's accurate and has a nice kick to it! My little wife has even shot it and didn't even wimper!

Looking for an IWB holster from it but I'd probably walk like "Chester" from the old "Gunsmoke" TV show.....LOL! Just kidding!

Would like to find a leather shoulder rig or bandolier holster for it but they're expensive! Just in case I ever needed a hand cannon for a SHTF situation!

A range officer at one of the ranges I go to said to let him know before I am going to shoot it because he said sometimes they'll cause his pacemaker to fire.....

I watched a slo-motion video of someone shooting one of those and immediately decided I would stick with my .44 mag S&W as the biggest thing I will shoot. The slo-motion video showed his forearm bones rippling like jello. I want to use my joints for a few more years.
