Update... Savage is golden in my book! One phone call and they were ready to send me a new hand guard. When I explained that it was beyond tight and I didn't want to damage a new rifle the CSR said "I will have a pre-paid RMA lable to you in 5 minutes". he was true to his word!!!

This is the Savage 10FP .300 WSM with the NightForce scope. A coworker needed money for his divorce, as he was planning to remarry a very nice girl, who was already divorced, so I got this with six rounds through it. His entire right side was a huge bruise from the six shots, so I took this and my Winchester Model 70 XTR 7mm Mag with a NightForce scope to the smith, and had a muzzle brake installed on each. I had shot 45 rounds through both within a couple of hours, and my bruise was the size and shape of the butt plate. The third piece is the Remington Model 788 (February 1970) .22-250 REM with a Weaver V-9 scope (3-9 variable), that I had purchased at a gun store in Perryville, MD in 1971, when I was at Bainbridge attending basic nuclear power school.

Nice brace of rifles!!! Love that 10FP! I am pleased to report that dealing with Savage has been a pleasure! The only (semi) concerning part was that I received an e-mail that (to paraphrase) "You have a years warranty. See how it shoots!" followed by another 5 minutes later that said "The gunsmith wants to see it before you shoot it... Send it back." Uhm....

Youíll love that 6.5 cm round. Good match ammo will make you shoot better than you are. Its like a dang laser. Havenít gotten to shoot my RPR or any of my other LR since leaving the communist state of NJ.

Itís the middle one.
