Dan Wesson ECO 45 - Good Stuff?

My wife and I were at our local LGS and she found herself smitten by the CZ / Dan Wesson ECO 45. Finally we decided to pull the trigger and the salesman let us know they were out of stock. Grrrr.

Any opinions one way or the other on this gun?

I see some online retailers have it in stock so I will probably go that route. Obviously they wanted us to order one through them. Never seen a Dan Wesson ECO before, but it sure seem like a nice pistol.

That's a gorgeous CZ and I love the grips...

I'm confused when you say she was smitten by it...Was there one in the case at the lgs, or were you looking in a catalogue??

There was one in the case so my wife was able to look it over pretty good. They wanted $1,649 plus tax....<gulp>

Buds is closer to $1,400 on GunBroker.

That is where I was going to go, but they want $41 for using a credit card. I could pay cash, but I do not want to add the additional days for mailing a check. I did not see any ACH options.

Buds selling through Gunbroker drops the $41 credit card charge, but they do charge $25 for second day delivery.

So if I am reading things correctly, ordering from Buds through Gunbroker with a credit card would be $16 cheaper.

Then I would hit the "BUY NOW" button and look for the UPS man around Wednesday or Thursday...

Gun Purchased.

As requested, BUY NOW has been clicked and wife will be happy. I hope she shares her new ECO while my Raptor is at Kimber.

We did run her Solo through the paces yesterday...shot great.

I stumbled across a Dan Wesson ECO in of all places a small old school gun shop in a small town in Alabama. They still had really old wood floors and get this, used rifles and shotguns were on racks out on the floor and you could pick them up and check them out, nobody had to unlock a case and hand them to you.

The Dan Wesson was very nice felt solid and well made. Don't own one so cant help with much more info.

I can't imagine walking into a gun store and start handling guns at will. I guess you don't need a gun to rob the place, just a bullet. LoL

Although I did buy it through Gunbroker from Buds, I still used Buds website for the payment and whatnot which was nice. I did end up calling in to check on the FFL (glad I did because it did not come across). The customer service rep was real easy to talk with on the phone, reviewed the transaction, payment, FFL, etc. You can tell they have a high volume of sales. He knew what my questions were before I asked them.
