Sig 1911 Nightmare Carry

I never thought I would do this but I sold my Eclipse Pro II and picked up a Sig Nightmare Carry. I wanted a 4” 1911 in 45 with a round butt or a Fastback as Sig calls it.

I was originally getting a used Super Carry Pro to replace my Eclipse. I sold the Eclipse and went to pickup the SC Pro. The SC was supposed to be in excellent shape and it was far from excellent. Poor condition would have been a stretch. Then I was bidding a Dan Wesson ECP 45. It’s a beautiful 1911 but the bidding got past my limit.

Then I saw this Sig for $809 with free shipping. I’m familiar with this 1911 and always liked the look. After about 5 minutes of thinking about it, I pressed the buy button. I placed the order on Sunday and it was at the FFL on Wednesday. I got to the FFL Friday before the background system in PA was shutdown.

It’s an all steel 1911 with night sights, front and rear checkering and a round butt in 45acp.

The things I don’t like is how the magazine base plate sticks out the bottom. It’s a poor fit but I ordered a flush WC 8 rounder on eBay for $22. It’s a perfect fit. The 2 factory magazines appear to be quality mags but I don’t like the fit. The grips feel great but they are a cheese grater on your cloths. I ordered a new set yesterday from SGM Grips. Rick, thanks for mentioning SGM.Spoke with Michael, great guy.

Beautiful looking gun John but you're right about the Sig magazine. A round butt gun needs a flush mag, nice score.

Absolutely Chuck, Iíll take a picture later with the flush mag. The factory mags will work fine for a spare mag on your side and for range use.

Nice purhase JC45. Fondled a fastback in LGS a few months back and immediately wanted it in the stable, but my long slide drained my play money...and still is. I also didn't care for the base plate.

Itís really nice, unfortunately Sig discontinued this model like Kimber did with the Super Carry HD. Anything you see now is whatís left. Not sure if anyone has a black 4Ē 1911 with a round butt anymore.

Nice looking gun. Is this a DA/SA like other Sigs?

Judging from the pic only and not knowing the SIG 1911 line well, I'd say it appears to be SA only.

So we still don't really know.....

Good scoop! Can't wait to see the target. It should be nice and tight.
