The Colt on the left, the one with a Colt medallion in the ivory grips is the first 1911 I ever purchased back in the 70's. I think I paid $385 bucks for it. I can't remember who it was but I had different sights installed, a trigger and accuracy job done by some old guy. I used it in 3-gun matches for a long time. The only Kimber I have that is just as good or maybe better is the Gold Combat Limited Edition. In a bad situation the 70 Series Colt and the Gold Combat would be the last two pistols I would sell.
The Satin Nickel 70 Series with the new Ed Brown Labyrinth Cocobolo grips is still all original, springs and all, factory Pachmeyer Gold Colt medallion grips are stored. It's been a safe queen only recently fired about 100 rounds thru it. It don't get out much.
The Ivory (no Medallion) Commander 9mm was purchased a couple years ago cause it was on GunBroker new in box with two Colt magazines for $600 bucks. It has been accurate and reliable right out of the box.
