Yup, for real alrighty.
My Ruger MK-I experience started in 1959 with my dad's pistol. It was just given to my grandson last year. I was always impressed at how nice the trigger was for an entry-level pistol.
My example was made in the late 60's, and the trigger is a far cry from all the MK-II's and later guns I have fired in the field, owned by friends. The later in years after initial production, the worse the triggers got thanks to litigation in that regard. The trigger on mine breaks at 3 lbs, no creep or take-up....about as good as it gets on a production gun.
I'm always on the lookout for another MK-I HB for a 'project pistol', but I'll add that the new MK-IV take-down feature is purty dang nice. They should have incorporated it from the git-go.
