Glock 30S - who has one? What do you think?

I'm thinking of selling my .40 cal Glocks and buying a 30S (.45 cal.) Obviously it would not become my EDC, but on days I was concerned about my carry gun getting pumped or dirty or otherwise mistreated, I'd use the Glock rather than carry one of my Kimbers.

If you have one, please share your impressions.

Don't have a 30s, but I am a Glock owner like you. It's a Glock, a tool that functions very well every time. I have played with a 36 which is a single stack version of the 30. I was happy with it and will probably buy one some day.

I have never owned a Glock. Heard they always work and very durable. I also know they are not very attractive.

LOL, y'all are funny.

Steve, thanks for the input on the 36. I thought about one of those, but I don't mind the width of the double stack, for 10 rounds in a subcompact, better than 6 rounds. YMMV.

Mostly I was wondering what it was like to shoot .45 in such a small, light weight, short-grip pistol. I have a G27, subcompact .40, and don't mind shooting it at all.

Have you considered the P320 SC in 45ACP? It's about the same size as your 27 with a much better trigger.

I thought the recoil was less on the 36 then on .40's I've shot. I like Denny's suggestion too. The Sig 320's are sweet.

Just to completely muddy the waters, what about the Springfield XD's. I like their trigger far better than a Glock and they have a few different configurations, one with interchangeable backstraps.

I previously owned 2 of the 30s at different times-all from trades. They both worked quite well and fairly accurate-but my personal preference is a grip with less circumference-therefore I sold both to someone that could appreciate their use.Recoil is not that terrible.

I have a Glock 30 Gen 4 and enjoy it. Great shooter. 10 and 13 rd mags are available. Never shot a .40.

I also got rid of all my 40's and currently only carry 9's and 45's mostly 1911's; However we do own a Glock 30S and have no current plans of
getting rid of it. It's chunkier than my 1911's as is the grip and even though I have small hands it actually feels comfortable to me when shooting and the best part I shoot it very well. So far I have over 2300 rounds through it and it's never given me a problem. I carry it IWB.

I would get to a gun shop and see if you can get you hands on it to see how it feels in your hand. This is my 30s at 10 yards.
