Obama and his EO
Death by a thousand cuts.
I was watching the talking heads on TV tonight, until I couldn't stand it anymore. They're saying it won't affect the average guy, that it makes sense to do background checks, that it's working in California.
No. No. We know what California is like. We say it's not a free state. It's not. New York is not a free state. We all know it. We cannot accept it. There are anti gun people who think this is a good thing and they are misguided. There are people who profess to be Second Amendment supporters, or gun owners, and accept this crap and they are turncoats. This is terrible.
The sky is falling. This is not acceptable. I've bought and sold guns. Am I a dealer? I've put up ads on the internet and sold guns. Am I a dealer? I've put up a for sale sign at my club? Am I a dealer? I might be now. Who knows?
Anyone want to sell a gun to someone in town now? What if the buyer is an ATF agent who will then say you are a dealer? Maybe you are, maybe you aren't, but congratulations, you've found yourself in the federal criminal justice system and it's going to be expensive to get out. And it will take a long time. And goodbye to your guns while you are out on bail.
If you think this will not have a chilling effect on gun transfers, you're wrong.
This is nothing less than the start of the final gun grab attempt.
We must say no. No.
I'm a pretty reasonable guy, I think. We may not always agree with each other on a lot of things, but I hope we all agree on this. I do not see how we can justify one iota of this attack on the Second Amendment, and our rights as a free people and citizens.
I am reminded of Barry Goldwater, and his famous quote- "Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice."
