Thumbs up Luger impluse purchase

Well, I stopped by my friends' little gun shop in town to drop off some gun magazines I wanted to share. A few of my friends were there and as soon as I walked in they said, "We've got your gun here." I laughed and thought they were joking because I just picked up the Sig I bought on Saturday. They said they just had a 1939 9mm Luger dropped off to sell on consignment "30 seconds" before I came in. It had the National Socialist military stampings and was numbers matching. It had two original mags and holster. Apparently it is a sad story of a guy having health issues and selling some of his gun collection to pay bills. He said it was in good working order and had fired it in the past. I know very little about Lugers but was will to take a chance.

A friend handed it to me... and I handled it for a long time and decided to keep it. Talk about an impulse purchase. Two guns in as many weeks.

I don't know any facts but some of those Luger's are worth pretty decent money.
Yours could be one that is worth more as a safe queen and not a shooter.
I would not shoot any +P ammo in it.

It would be very cool and interesting to me to hear the Luger's history.

Nice score, it looks like it's in great condition. Lugers are very collectable, you should try to look into it's history. If it were mine, I wouldn't make it a safe queen but I'd be very careful with it at the range. I wouldn't use the holster, I'd try to preserve the condition it's in and keep the leather from drying out.

Lugers are a field unto themselves. I lucked into one many years ago. Congratulations.
