Anyone Else have an EMP

While I love my Kimbers the EMP is simple , accurate and pretty utilitarian for a 3" 1911

I'm curious, does the EMP use a dual recoil spring assembly like a Kimber ultra does?

My buddy had an EMP and it felt like a very well made pistol. It had some cycling issues and the range officer said he needed to finish breaking it in.

I just looked at the owners manual and it does have a dual recoil spring assembly.

Is that a 9 or 40.

Don't own a EMP but it looks a lot like a CDP.

Took a EMP 40 on a Kimber trade.
First time I ever made two mistakes within one deal.

I had one, never really warmed up to it. Ended up selling it, did not like 9mm in a 1911 package. May have liked it more if I had the .40. The weak link with the EMP is the magazines, they make this nice small compact carry gun. But no flush fitting compact mags. Logman makes them and does great work, but Springfield really dropped the ball on the magazines.
My old EMP, put 2000 rounds though it before I sold it.

Yes, it does have a dual recoil spring.

It's a thin, light gun with an ambi safety and shoots straight as heck

It did come with 3 mags, which is a nice touch, them not being flush mount doesn't really bother me.

I had one in 40. Never had issues with it and sold to a friend who wanted it more than I did. I did know a couple who barrel timing issues and the links broke. But I have seen that on makes and models too.
