I have a Ruger 10/22, I love to shoot it when I can. Have thought about adding a scope to it...but hey..I gotta wear glasses to see anyway. I have a problem focusing on my front sight of my Shield.

Thanks for letting us know you are available for help on the 10/22s. I"M down to only one now a mid 80's model with the steel trigger group. I've changed the barrel and put it in a tactile stock. Only mod really that i"ve done is file the slide lock lever for slide pull back release. I think the best thing Ruger ever did is when the came out with their BX25 magazine. Nice looking and works flawlessly.

Are you an expert with Ruger MkIIIs? I am a newbie owner of a MkIII comp ss model.

My favorite gun is my first one, a Remington Nylon 66 22lr, that I have owned 51 years. It still shoots like its new.

Have a Ruger deluxe walnut checkerd stock 10/22 and an AMT lightning 25/22 with folding stock.
Both great guns but the AMT is very portable and all SS so I used to keep it on our boat.

Hi Bob, thanks for the offer to help. Don't own a 10/22, but am thinking of picking up a Ruger American rifle in 22 mag. Gave my only 22 mag rifle to my father in law a while back and am missing it more then I thought I would.

Was wondering what your take on the Ruger American bolt action rim fires is. Looks like a lot of rifle for the money but I have not shot one yet. I know it's not a 10/22 but I'm guessing your bretter well versed in most things Ruger, thanks for whatever info you can give me.

Bolt actions are always more accurate than semi's. (exception is next)
My favorite rifle in my collection is a ruger 10/22 magnum. flat projectile and dead accurate at 100 yards with more stopping power than the lr....too bad ruger no longer makes (lr's really drop after 50 yards) them.

I agree the 22 mag is a heck of a round, that's why I'm looking to add one. Pretty sure I'll go with the Ruger bolt action, they use the 10/22 mags, good and plentiful.
