The Motorcycle Holster

I see lots of game out putt putting around on the Honda. Seen before and now with a camera the Moose (and there was another also). Had this been a bear, and it's Bear Spring season a handgun easily accessible would have been nice. It is now!

Obviously I won't be out hot rodding and trying to catch air off a berm, so hopefully this will hold, or if nothing else will fail slowly so I can save the Ruger from being lost over a 40 miles route.

Being a trail rider myself, I like it. What about a holster with a velcro strap to help hold in place? I usually keep my pistol in my backpack well padded. I like your idea. You would probably need faster access than I would.

I am using nylon backpacking lashing straps to hold everything in place. It should hold fine, but there is a lot of bouncing around, so we will see.

I see the strap now... Thats a tough call. Are you mostly on fire road type trails? If so, I would think no problem.

I'm in a thick forested area. There is very little riding off logging roads. Game trails are nearly 100% blocked by dead fall. Sometimes so bad that even on foot you cannot get thru.

Probably >150 miles. Every place in Montana is a days drive or more.

Missoula is the closest big city, and it's only once a month, if I can't avoid it. Amazon is the best place to get supplies.

Looks like it'll hold but then again on a four stroke that vibration can come into play. If you're going to be out there in bear country smelling like salami... :-)

...if it doesn't hold well check out the Bianchi 4100 ranger rig. It holds the pistol across your chest securely, puts the weight on your shoulder so you don't notice it. They offer several lengths and a flap to make it like an old field holster. It's been a while but my ventures into any deep woods are on foot, the Super Blackhawk loaded up on my belt is too much on a 10 mile hike.

Been cold around here, so a thick parka fully zipped has been the only way to get out and high into the mountains. When July comes around this MC Holster won't be needed, but it is way cool.
