If your goal is old-school authenticity, then you need to go with aluminum. Otherwise, I'd go with PMags. I don't think you could damage one without putting it atop a rock and purposely stomping it to death. Sometimes Palmetto has a daily deal for something you need, like ammo, at an already fair price, and they'll throw in 10 PMags.
"Why" IDK, because I can. Old school authenticity, naw in this case I could care less. I have about 10 metal Bushmaster mags and some metal Checkmate mags for the M1A. I really don't shoot the AR15 very much, mostly because no outdoor range close to home.
I'm ok paying for the Pmags, just wondered if these mags were just as good. I did not see rave reviews for this product so I will pass.
I am looking for the "Loaded with ammo Pmag deals" I missed a couple different offers. Let me know if you see any.
A few months ago I bought six 40 round Pmags and I have them and all the other mags I have loaded and ready for a range trip.
