Why you should never talk to the police without your attorney present
I'm sure that most of us that live in states that required classroom training as part of their CCL requirements have been told that if you ever have to use your firearm you.....
Step 1: You call 911. Tell them that you have been attacked, and that the attacker is incapacitated and needs immediate medical assistance. Do not in any way, shape, or form admit guilt.
Step 2: You call your lawyer.
Step 3: When the police arrive, tell them that you will be 100% compliant, but you will not be speaking without a lawyer present.
Step 4: Don't say a word until your lawyer is present. Period.
Step 5: Discuss the next steps with your lawyer.
Here is a law school professor and former criminal defense attorney explaining why you should never agree to be interviewed by the police. Following him is a police detective explaining what can happen with what you said.
I'm suspicious of people who don't like dogs.
But trust a dog when it doesn't like a person.
