Hope this isn't posted yet, but I thought we could make this thread a stickie for people looking for weapon specific holsters.

In this case, I was on the hunt for a paddle holster for my new Warrior SOC...
Without going full tactical leg style, there is barely anything out there.
However, I did find something from FOBUS...

They have the Fobus Tactical Paddle Holster T1911RP
Here is a video with a non Kimber, but same principle. The model I listed above is for the right handed shooter. Best price I found, especially if you have Amazon Prime is $40.43

Let me first say that I am just not a fan of kydex holsters!!! I do realize that if your pistol is equipped with a light, a laser or an optic sight, you are pretty much stuck with kydex. So...... I do not choose to equip my pistols with any of those devices. I LIKE LEATHER!!! Kinky, huh?

I have fair size box in the corner of my closet that is full to overflowing with various holsters that I have tried and found lacking. Folks, can we try keep the thread concentrating on holsters for Kimber models?
Like what is your fav holster for 1911 railers, the baby Kimbers, etc. What is your favorites for your Kimbers...

It's the only reason why I started this thread. I see these questions come up all over different forums.

Example, I am a H&K fan... When I first got my first HK many years ago, it was a biotch to find a holster for it. It was considered an 'exotic gun' and nobody made much for it. Now, not so much. But even now, nobody really came up with anything good for accessory mounted wepons unless you go full tactical...

OK, Fobus Review.... Just got it today.So I will try to make this short and concise and I also have a few photos.
Scales are 1-10, 10 being best...

- Concept (Rating:6): Great idea to defeat the accessory issue. Retention is good. However, It's going to require a learning curve. We are all pretty much use to loading in pistols back from the top into a holster which guides itself in without a thought. This holster is easy to break the gun free from. But's it's a biotch to get it back in because it requires some though and good aim. Removing the gun for use is easy as long as you remember it has to be pulled back to remove it after you release the thimb break. It does have a muzzle guide (see last photo), that resembles a bullet to give it the leverage to get it in.
All in all, I give it a low 6 because it defeats all your experience and muscle memory to use. I feel if it's all you carry and practice, you can conquer it's issues.

- Material: (Rating:9)..... What can I say, it's plastic. You get what you see. No fancy basket weave look, checkering or otherwise. Durability may be an issue as the thumb break strap seems rubber and not sure how long it will hold up. It does have a nice big mamma jamma snap...

- Comfort: (Rating:9)... If you are a paddle holster fan like me, it feels no different than any others. To me it's comfy... It keeps the gun pretty close to your body... There is a screw to adjust the kant. It was set fine for my wear and review.

- Conclusion: I'll have to take a pass on this. My 1911 is not my main carry. I'd have to practice too much to learn the methods of holstering and reholster... To have if you just need something once in awhile and it's not a duty gun, it's fine. If you are in uniform and need it for daily carry. Practice practice practice. Because you'll look like a bumbling fool if you don't.
Oh, if you have a SOC, the holster seems to turn on the laser 3 out of 5 times. Not the biggest prob and it could be me. But wouldn't want it coming on if not needed.

I still may get one for my SOC. Mine isn't a daily carry. I'll only carry it holstered around the fire at hunting camp just to show it off (just being honest) so this might be a good fit for me.

I am seriously considering sending my CT laser to Tucker gun and having them make a leather holster. I'll let you know what I decide.

Thanks... I shoot straight and have no reason to bolster anything. If it sux, it sux, etc...

Kewl... Would be even nicer if the CT came with a quick release instead of that wacky one. If Streamlight and others can do it, for the price of CTs, they should too. At least you'd be able to remove it and vice versa if you wanted, (Yea, I know. this one is a cheapo!)
I still prefer weapon mounted lights and or lasers like the Streamights, etc. In fact, I'd prefer a light than a laser, period...
