I'm wondering if given the choice, should I acquire more Kimber mags or go with Wilson Combat mags? I like that the Kimbers base plate is predrilled. But have heard negative things about Kimber mags. The prices are pretty close. These will be for a Ultra Aegis II. Thoughts...

I don't know why Kimber mags have such a bad reputation. I have NEVER had a problem with any of the 9 that I own, they are just as reliable as my Wilson and McCormick mags.

Agree. I have had no issues of any kind with my supplied Kimber mag. Mine is a .45, but the rep appears to encompass all Kimber mags.

I own three Kimber and a Colt XSE. I have never had a reason to use anything other than what came with the pistol. I have interchanged the four mags I have and they all work fine. Never tried Wilson because I never needed too. Maybe at another point in time.

Thanks for the response guys. But what would you choose if you were buying now? Just trying to learn from you experienced users.
If I had to buy more mags right now I would buy Kimber Kim-pro Tac-Mags and I would buy them online from Budsgunshop. They sell them for 19.99 with shipping they come out to about $22.00 ea. this is the best price I have ever found for them. They frequently sell out at that price but they always get them back in stock.

My extra mags, for the Ultra, are Kimber Pro Tac. That said, I have some Wilson 8 rounders I used when I shot competition with my long slide. They work fine in the Kimber too.

The kimber one ran fine I just wanted 10 rounders for my 9mm as that is okay in single stack minor. I chose the Metalform Elites which have been perfect. The Wilson's were not reliable for me.

I have 8 for my Ultra CDPII, and never a problem! There all Kimber's. I was told to get Wilsons, but never tried.
I have 6 standard and 2 extended for the Solo that I am having problems with. It has been sugested that my problems are from there mags, I'm getting a lot of failure to eject. Hopefully there will be another company making magizines for the Solo that I can try.
