It doesn't matter what he claims.
There is clear high quality video of the event.
It was during filming that it happened.

He was negligent.
He fired a weapon negligently, and killed a person.
The one in possession of the gun is responsible for every round fired.
He is ignorant of safe gun handling, and shouldn't have been allowed to tough a real gun.

He did anyway, and caused a death.
You or I would serve prison time.

They should finish the movie or at least pay the cast and crew in full.
They shouldn't suffer for his negligence.
