My friend found 10 boxes of Winchester 124gr jhp in his closet and gave them to me.They have been stored there for 7-10 years and was wondering if they would still be safe to shoot in my Solo or let my PCII be the guinea pig..The price on the boxes are $8.99.The good ole days of cheap ammo..

7 - 10 years for modern ammo is nothing, I've shot thousands of surplus WWII .45 and 30-06 rounds and never had a problem with them.

I have reloads older than that. My Ultra Carry likes them.

Even at those old prices that's still $90.00 worth of ammo. I think if that was my friend I'd have to at least get him a good bottle of his favorite adult beverage.

I just gave my A/c man two boxes of .45 lead bullets that I had since the late 60's. I did not want to run them through my guns. He said they worked fine. Price on the boxes was $4.39. I also have some 22 long rifle from that era and have no problems with them....
