I guess it was inevitable. Recently threads have become conversations of training, tactics and laws pertaining to concealed carry and self defense issues.

Maybe it's time...

Great idea Mike...
We can all hit paper targets till we're out of ammo but I want to learn from experienced LEO or military trained personal on tactics of real time self defense scenarios...

I am quite certain that moving and shooting, or shooting from cover, is a whole new ball game.

The learning process never ends for me. I think much of the knowledge that exists amongst the members here has not surfaced yet.

My opinion is that if we get too many sub forums, it will be bad for the site until we get more members. I would rather see threads in the forums we have, and they could be pinned if needed. Just my opinion.

We have two sub-forums {Kimber Pepperblaster and Miscellaneous} that have 5 threads and 31 views between them.
Maybe put those two out to pasture and add the one that will have conversations of training, tactics and laws pertaining to concealed carry and self defense issues..
Just an idea and since we have questions about all the above I think it's a great idea...IMO

I can see your point too. Maybe my OCD need to over organize! Things can be moved as the forum grows. Just don't want the mods to turn into file clerks later.

Though they're not used much the two sub forums serve a purpose, one is for selling non firearm items (knife, lawnmower, camera etc.) and the other for the Pepperblaster. I'd rather see a new sub forum added then one of the others changed or removed, JMHO.

A man after my own heart, I've tried to get these guys stop hijacking threads and start using tags so we can build our search engines data base. 1 man vs the 591 members that have made at least 1 post.

We're a little too conversant to be corralled like that ;) (it will get better, Chuck)

As much as I'd like to see that happen I don't think it will.

I have tried my best Gator not to but just his morning your post on your new purchase was hijacked again.
It has to start at the top of the food chain and on down the list of members.

Well, maybe after page 3 of a thread, the hijack isn't such a terrible thing. Perhaps the subject has been thoroughly covered?

How about giving the thread author the authority to close the thread? That way if they have read all the meaningful stuff they expect to see, they can close it before things get too out of hand?

Internet forums are like a bunch of guys standing around in a gun shop shooting the breeze. It's supposed to be fun and informative, but mainly fun. If things get too regimented, people leave for other places. This is a small forum- how many times can we all talk about the relative merits of checkered front straps?

The problem with that is say a guys on vacation and hasn't had time to read the thread and post a reply.
Gator, you and I know that on Facebook if we post something on our page and someone comments on it that has nothing to do with the original post we have the option to delete that comment since that's your thread/post.
Maybe that's an option but don't think that will fly either...
