Ok folks, I know you all probably know, but the world aint full of good people.

Found an ad for a Kimber Sapphire, at a price I was willing to pay...

Started the talks, it was in Florida, and I am in NC. Talked to a couple of FFL's and stated emailing the seller.

Long story short... price was too good, so I got nervous... Started looking.

Found an ad for a Kimber Sapphire in Iowa, same pics, same price same description... I emailed the seller and asked for a "custom pic". I asked for a pic of the gun with a pencil, pen or 2 rounds of .45 in the picture with it.

I got the old.. "No buyer has ever had an issue with me, I'm too old to mess around with that" answer, and a sob story about why he was selling.

No pic...

I asked for a phone call... No response...

Pretty sure this is a scam, I am running, not walking away.

Be careful when dealing on the Internet...

When we were looking for a firearm for GiGi awhile back on Armslist , a guy wanted me to send him a money order then he would send the firearm.
He would never answer my calls but would text and e-mail me.
A few days later, Armslist sent me an email not to do business with that guy and he was scamming his way through their website.
From that day forward I either do a face 2 face or lgs...

That Sucks!!

Somebody famous once said, "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch!!!" Sadly, it proves correct more often than not. :(:(

At least now, you can let the seller know that a buyer now has an issue with him!!!!:D:D:D:D Sorry you didn't come up with your Sapphire , but real happy that you were smart enough to figure that Bozo out before committing to anything!!! Hang in there, you'll fine your pistol for your price. It's just a matter of time!!

Armslist?

It happens all the time. I saw some guns on Armslist that a dealer in Tampa had on gun Broker. I called him up, and he told me that people often copy his pictures and list them for sale on Armslist.

F.Y.I. Sci-fi novelist Robert Heilein wrote "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch." Often shortened to TANSTAAFL in written conversations these days.

Good job Elidar. I have bought a ton of stuff online but never on sites like eBay and never from an individual. I may miss out on deals but better that than to get ripped off which makes you feel violated. I have never felt really secure about sending money to total strangers.

It pays to do your homework as you proved. Thanks for the lesson in reality.
