Bought an early Christmas present toady, a Kimber Pro Carry II in .45 cal. Too bad I can't pick it up until after Christmas, due to the 3-day waiting period here in Illinois. Don't really care for the black sights on it, but that will be changed later. Looking to learn more on the Kimber here on the forum. This is my first Kimber, after having Ruger's and Smith & Wesson's.

I have the stainless version PCII and you are going to fall in love with it from the first shot.Mine came with the night vision sights but my 9mm PCII has the regular sights and since I don't shoot in low light it isn't a big deal. You might want to get yourself a Uplula mag loader to help load the 230gr bullets. My right thumb was broken into pieces from a sports injury and the result was never bending my thumb again and the loader has sorta spoiled me.Welcome aboard and you'll get a ton of info if you just ask and read everything there is to offer.

I live in Illinois, near St. Louis. I bought the Pro Carry from Rural King, as they had a great deal on them for Christmas. No gunsmith there, they only sell the guns and some accessories. I will have to let my bank account recover so I can get some decent night sights on it. Not sure what night sights I will get yet. One of my S&W's has Trijicon's, but they don't work as well as I wish they would. I bought the Smith used, so that may be why.

Kimber offers some great night sights! I have them on my Solo CDP LG and on my Ultra CDP II .45. I forgot and left out my Solo on my hi boy dresser, woke up about 3: 00 AM saw the 3 Dots and they were bright. I was instantly awake, and took a moment to figure out what it was. I highly recomend!

The sights that come on Kimbers are Meprolight Tritium sights, they are a little more expensive then other brands but they come with a 10 year illumination warranty to the original purchaser. When you buy a Kimber that has the Meprolight sights installed Kimber has been know to replace them for free long after the warranty has lapsed. The sights you want are the ones with a cocking shoulder, when I pinched a nerve in my neck that left my left hand useless I was still able to cock my Super Carry Pro by hooking the rear sight on my jeans pocket and pressing down....... you just never know.

My favorite sights, far and away are the TruGlo TFO's, but I don't know if they are available for Kimber. If they are, you should consider them. Bright day and night.

after a quick look, I see they are available. The tritium is bright at night, and the fiber optic is bright in the day. I really love these sights.

I agree with the TFO I have them on all my carry guns except my Kimber pro CDP but will add them as soon as I can afford them.
