Concealed Carry

I would assume a large percentage of us on this forum excercise their right to carry concealed, as do I. Today's
"mass shooter" seems to make their weapon of choice an AR type rifle, not only that many are now wearing tactical
gear, including bullet proof vest, among other things. Would I go up against a shooter with an AR and tactical gear,
with my 1911, not unless I was standing right next to him/her. I would be heading for cover just like everyone else at the mall, park, diner, nightclub name the place. By the time police arrive they really have no idea who the shooter is,
that makes anyone with a gun in their hand a target for them. Should the shooter come looking for more victims like so many of them do my 1911 may greet them, but by them possibly wearing a vest a shot needs to be precise and delivered quickly. I will always carry, but the above scenario makes me rethink how I may go about things.

In todays environment those that carry openly become a target . In concealed carry, you have options. A concealed carrier needs to have continuous situational awareness .such action adds to long term stress but necessary in these times.vigilence and having a general plan formed but subject to immediate change as the situation unfolds. Keeping your firearm concealed unless you are engaged may prevent you from being targeted by LEO‘s who upon arrival will consider you with an firearm exposed is the shooter. Not every person is a good or luck shot as the person who shot the guman at 40 ft and stop the threat. In most situations you need to think defensively.
Mostly I agree with you. If you are the only person armed, you might be a target in the eyes of a shooter.
But....
You quoted me, so I'll respond from my POV:
Everyone out side the few major population centers carries here.
Everyone. That's not an exaggeration.
Even the old ladies and democrats. That is why we have so very little crime here.
An armed society is a polite society.

If you carry, you need to train, and not just belly shots at 7yards.
Eli didn't just wake up and smoke the shooter at 40.

I was living in southern california in the 60’s and the last robbery event was far northern california.
I lived in So Cal for over a decade.
Fu#& that place.
Car theft 4 times?
Bruh...You still think that's a safe, viable place to live?

If you don't think it has a relevance to concealed carry (which is the title of the thread), don't reply.
Others may think differently.
Free and open discussions are how adults learn and problem solve.
Feel free to add something relevant.

I'll help you out:
Would you feel outgunned with your Micro 9 and no spare mags if you found yourself in the middle of a "peaceful protest", knowing your car or truck was a quarter mile away?

In my opinion, concealed carry does not make someone liberal or conservative. It is not about extreme right concealed carry vs extreme left non concealed carry. Concealed carry is not stereotype. In a case of a mass shooting, the shooter doesn’t care which political affiliation the victims belong to. The purpose of the tread was in still is how to respond in that scenario regardless if you vote for X or Z. When a boat is sinking all the passengers are in the same team.

I'd take two spare 20 round mags and a loaded 20 round plus one in the hole over a single 9 round mag in a micro9.

I disagree. Several mass shootings were the result of a particular group or ideology that was being targeted. One particular political group declares disarming citizens as an integral part of their platform. I don’t particularly care for politics, but I can assure you that it has an impact.

Not when one team is drilling holes in the ship and trying to ban lifeboats.

That said, the right to keep and bear arms applies to every American, even the ones desparately voting for the people trying to remove those rights, and destroy the sovereignty of this nation.

I agree with you. Except the fact that when it come to 20 rounds capacity, we are not in conceal carry word anymore. When we say conceal carry, we see hidden.

Nope.

My SIG p365xl with 14 rounds per mag and one in the pipe is a total of 29 rounds (that's with only one spare mag).
The gun is built for concealment and has an optic 😉. It competes with the Hellcat.
Any smaller and it would be a pocket pistol.

I think I'm starting to see a pattern forming here, with Micro 9 owners and on-topic Nazis.

Remind me about that tomorrow, and I'll do it, the only thing I seem to reliably remember is why I walked into the bathroom.

I am among the few who never had to register for the draft. I think that lasted two or three years. I can't recall when it was reinstated.

My first carry gun was a .32 Beretta Tomcat. I worked as a deckhand on a lobster boat in the summers when I was a broke student paying my own way. One of the other guys on the boat needed rent money so he sold it to me. I carried it in my pocket with no holster. I lived in a shitty neighborhood in an apartment the size of a large closet above a bar. I hardly ever shot it and my first box of ammo lasted a couple of years.
