I have been on the Bud's web page and upon looking at all the Kimbers I am dissapointed in the reviews. Far to many complaints of failure to feed. I have a large respect for Kimber, but why so many complaints? It seems to me the majority of the problems are with the shorter barrel pistols. The full size appear to have no problems.

I'm new to Kimbers. My first trip to the range started with a 100 ct box of Winchester .45. Of the 100, I had 5 FTF. I had the on-site gun smith look at it and he found nothing wrong. He fired it using PMC, no problem. After the initial 100 rounds I purchased a 50 rd box of PMC. The PMC had no problems. Plus these are the first 150 rounds I've put through the gun, so it needs some breaking in. Perhaps the reviews you read were guns that were still waiting to be broken in.

After breaking in 2 PCII {9mm-45acp} and a Solo,I've learned that breaking in a Kimber is a blessing and a curse {solo}. The 2 PCII worked flawlessly after the initial couple of boxes of ammo and the Solo was a $800 paperweight until Kimber fixed the extractor.Since then I have shot between 400-500 rounds through it without a single fte or ftf....Be patient and you will love your Kimber...

I suspect that a lot of those complaints come from people that fail to follow the break in procedure in the owners manual. Yes, some guns can be troublesome during the break in period but eventually after about 500 rounds they will work themselves out. Those that don't will be fully covered by Kimber's service department.
I had the displeasure of running into someone at a local range that constantly told the world what a piece of crap his new Kimber was. After about the 4th time I ran into him at the range I asked if he was interested in selling that piece of crap. He said he'd sell it right now if I had $500.00 in my pocket, I asked the range officer to come over to witness the deal and to his surprise gave him the money. When I got it home I broke it down and gave it a complete cleaning, replaced the recoil spring and oiled it. The next week I ran into him at the range after putting 200 trouble free rounds through the gun. I told him how good the gun was and thanked him for the great deal. I later had the range officer tell me he was telling people I screwed him out of the gun. And now you know how I got a 3 month old Pro TLE II for $500.00 that needed nothing more then a good cleaning, oiling and a little TLC.

Gator...I have had decent luck with PMC too. I bought bulk 500 rds of PMC 230 gr RN that have worked like a charm in my Crimson UC II and other guns for that matter.
When I purchased my Kimber last week I wanted to test fire it on the spot to ID any potential problems. After the shop tech oiled her up some I ran 100 rounds of mixed PMC 230 gr. RN and HPA 185 gr HP through it at their indoor range with 0 problems.
Not saying that it is representative of Winchester ammo as a whole but my personal experience with it is that some types tend to be under powered. Although, no experience at all with Winchester ammo through my Kimber, mostly through other weapons.

New Kimbers require proper break in. Just keep feeding & cleaning 'em till the 500 mark. My new Kimber was stove piping around 200. I just cleaned and have kept feeding her. Haven't had a problem since. The wife was out back (yes, in our yard) shooting her Sig p938 yesterday, I joined her with my UAII, and sent another 25 downrange. The only problem I did have, is that my wife prefers the Kimbers trigger pull, and she's quite accurate. My UAII has eaten about 450 so far, HP and target, and just gets smoother and smoother.

Wish I could shoot in the back yard. That would be great. I'd set up something like hickock45 has on youtube. Imagine the ammo cost

You don't know the half of it. I normally don't carry money like that on me but I had taken $800.00 with me to the range that day hoping to run into him and make an offer on the gun. I figured I had about a 40% chance of buying a $1200.00 dollar for $800.00 but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Before I could say anything he started bitching about Kimbers being crap again and offered to sell it to anyone that had $500.00 right then and there. I damn near ripped the pocket off my jeans pulling my money out. That was about a year ago and he's still telling anyone that will listen to him that I'm a cheat, a thief and screwed him out of his gun.

That's because he realizes now what he let get away from him. His loss/stupidity is your gain. Rest assured, I would have done the same as you. Those kind of opportunities don't come around often. Enjoy.

Being the gentleman that I assumed you were, why did you not offer to sell it back to him for $1200.00 plus diagnostic and resolution fees of $250.00. Then you can tell everyone that you offered to sell it back to him and the cheap skate wouldn't do it.
I guess you will just have to enjoy that piece of junk.
