What's that.....an SA XD9 sub compact? Been CCW one for years all year round. I have never, ever had an issue with it!A double mag carrier is always on my weak side regardless of the gun. Started out carrying like that when I got a Springfield sub compact with a holster & the mag carrier. When I Open Carry around here, they tell me I look like Rambo. I could carry a whole box of 9's with that rig.
Sorry, Rick I can't monitor the forum 24/7. One of the things I do daily is to check out the new members, most times before they post, unfortunately this guy joined and posted while I was off, it happens. We have put a new restriction in, a member must have 15 posts before they can post in the classifieds. How are these trolls getting on here without being promptly removed?
Islander, Chuck, any way you can keep these jerks off the forum and cluttering it up with their crap? And what's up with the Mexican flag?
DOH...it took me a while but I just took a closer look at your pic!! Funny stuff! I'm old and my glasses probably needed cleaning.I always keep a bunch clips full of bullets and one high capacity clip too.

I'm sure I posted a reply somewhere back in this thread but as it's come back I'll toss in a comment.
In my opinion, were a firearm to need to be used for defensive purposed, the statistical likelihood of "an extra mag" being required is HIGHLY unlikely. Personally if I were to feel I could need an "extra mag" for some reason I'd reconsider what it was I was planning to do...

I suppose it's probably safer to err on the side of caution, I'll give you that. if anyone feels the need to be "prepared" to that level in an every day life scenario that's fine. You've eluded to the fact that your family has an established successful business. That's the sort of thing I could see warranting a level of precaution beyond the average scenario? The reality is with the exception of the few members here who have been in combat or LE situations where a firearm was actually used it is unlikely the "extra mag" was ever inserted into the pistol if they used the weapon. For most of us who will likely NEVER need to defend ourselves with a firearm the "extra mag" is probably not ever going to be needed? Again, I can understand it's nice to be prepared. You're the boss of you, carry all the ammo you want... I won't be packing the sub zero bag next time I go inshore fishing in FL??? There will certainly be a proven subcompact, more likely than not I'll make it home in one piece, againThe extra mag isnt for playing John Wick.
The extra mags are in case the one in your gun takes a shit.
Clint Smith tells a story of how, as a young officer responding to a call, exited his car and caught the butt plate of his gun on the seatbelt, dumping all his rounds on the ground.
In his words, "I had the world's most expensive single shot 1911".
Always carry a spare mag.

Hey, sorry to hear your not in the demographic where heightened security measures are warranted ninja :-( I too am unfortunately not likely a prospect for kidnaping so we have that in common. There are folks out there with reasons to be more cautious.First off, I'm not rich. I work for every cent.
Most of the members on this forum are worth more than me. I also may as well live in fucking Mayberry.
That has nothing to do with me putting faith in the reliability of a single $15 magazine.
Guess which part fails most often in semi auto handguns?
Two is one. One is none.
I also have no illusions of fighting a gunbattle with a handgun.
My handgun gets me to my truck, which gets me home.
You do have a spare tire, right?
That doesn't mean you expect a race.
It means you are smart enough to realize one may fail.
Failure to prepare is preparing to fail.
Here is a short clip of Clint Smith speaking to a room full of cops who are taking a class.Hey, sorry to hear your not in the demographic where heightened security measures are warranted ninja :-( I too am unfortunately not likely a prospect for kidnaping so we have that in common. On the gear you choose haul it's your prerogative and personal preference. If you want to carry it and feel the need, good for you 👍🏻
