^^^^ This.

I have quite a few autoloading handguns. None of them are designed to slam the slide home upon insertion of a magazine.

Micro 9 section of the forum is becoming Soloesque.
It's called Auto forwarding.
Most modern autoloading handguns do this.
Glocks, M&Ps, H&Ks etc..
Most manuals explain this with a warning if you read them.
It is not a malfunction, but is a by product of design.

It is a slidelock malfunction caused by the malformed aft end of your slidelock. A few strokes of a file will fix it.
As an aside, I much prefer using an 8-round Sig P290 magazine in my Micro 9.

Got my Micro 9 back from Kimber. Sent it to them on the 10th and got it back on the 21st.

This is what they did.

1, Replaced the Magazine
2. Replaced slide stop and spring
3. Adjusted the extractor
4. Polished the Barrel
5. Reamed the chamber
6. Polished the feed ramp, Breach face, and firing pin housing.

Seems like a lot of work for a handgun fresh out of the box.

So far so good, the 3 initial problems that prompted me to open the thread are gone.

Taking it to the range next week and will post any problems.
