Never noticed they were still on the Kimber website. They did get a lot of positive reviews in a crowded market.

 

When Kimber discontinues an item like a gun, the distributors just don't throw away the inventory, and the Evo wasn't exactly flying off the shelves...hence being discontinued.

I don't see prices dropping on the EVO although a local shop did say he would give me a heck of a deal on a base model. He has several in stock.

 

Prices probably won't drop much at all.

Distributors and FFLs still paid for them, and they aren't going to just lose money because Kimber isn't making replacement inventory.

 

The year-old thread that announced the EVO would be discontinued as of May, 2023 was closed to thread drift.

Well, three models are still on Kimber's website, and they are available from a bunch of vendors. I guess Kimber changed their minds.

Kimber stopped producing EVO last spring or summer. That you continue to see EVOs for sale at a bunch of vendors... well... there's your clue as to why production was halted. That said, it's not unusual to see some new old stock depending on make / model.

EVO seemed like a decent gun if a bit pricey. Perhaps the hangover from Solo doomed EVO.

 

Kimber still wants the un-informed to buy EVO’s they just not been producing them for awhile. There is no telling how many new EVO’s are sitting in wholesale supply warehouses and local gun shops?
I would guess 10 years from now you will still see “new old stock!”
