You may have picked up some reloads packed in Federal boxes, but to my knowledge, Federal does not reload ammunition. They only manufacture first line, high quality new ammunition. This sounds a little strange!!:eek:

Can you post a picture of the ammo carton and headstamps on the cartridge cases? I'm curious to see what you have there!!!:confused:

That's exactly what I was thinking, if you got them at a LGS they may be in house reloads.

I have no idea who reloaded that ammo based on the clear plastic bag, but don't assume that is was Federal just because they used spent Federal brass.

Who Knows......

Pics of the reloads that i got the other day
Thanks for the pics, J. That stuff is definitely NOT Federal ammo. As stated above, it is probably house reloads. If you choose to use these loads, just be aware that the components were chosen for economic reasons, not function and accuracy reasons. They use the powder, primers and bullets that they can obtain the cheapest and are usable in numerous calibers and loadings. The labor, used to assemble it, is also chosen for economic reasons, not reloading skill or knowledge.

However, there ARE some ammo re-manufacturers that choose quality components and employ skilled, knowledgeable craftsmen to create high quality, consistent, accurate, custom quality ammunition. Freedom Munitions is highly recommended by forum members. Give them a try if you are looking for quality re-manufactured ammunition.

Hey thanks for the heads up. I'd love to use that company and they were recommended earlier BUT they do not ship to my county in California. It's quiet sad

Got any friends that live in a California county that can receive ammo shipments? I'm not trying to give you any shady ideas, but if a parcel for you happens to get delivered to a friends home, say 20 miles down the road in another county, I wouldn't expect that any questions would be asked!!!!:eek::eek::rolleyes::rolleyes:

What your county doesn't know, won't hurt them!!!:eek:

Forget all that, just move to a free state.
