Wow, that is one sweet looking gun, now we need a range report.
Hopefully that will be tomorrow.

Btw, here is a look down the sights. Sorry about the focus, the iPhone autofocus was going nuts focusing on the front sight, then the back sight. It didn't help that I was yelling expletives.

Bet you won't have a focus problem at the range!

Wait until you get to be my age. Rear sight, front sight, target, chose wisely you can only have one.

Haha. I must be "advanced" for my age. I already had cataract surgery this year, so focusing on anything close requires readers. I've found that with weak ones (1.0) I can see the sights and the target is not too fuzzy. The darkness of indoor ranges makes it worse too. I think these sights will help. As for choosing one...I have found that seeing the sights helps more than a sharp target and fuzzy sights.

Are the dots on the Straight Eight sights tritium? I can't really tell in the photo.

I know that yelling expletives often helps complete difficult tasks!!! It reduces tension, too!!! I can speak fluent four-letter lineman talk, when required!!:eek::eek:

I spent enough years with my tools on that I can translate his talk!

Yes, they are tritium. Here is a close up pic of the front sight top with Trijicon's logo. I know they are a company that sells tritium sites to the military.

I found that focusing on the front sight works best for me.

Early Saturday and the wife just asks "so what have you got planned for today?"....sensing a honey-do moment coming on, I said "I HAVE to go to the range" as if my mental stability depends on it. Like Barney Fife says: "Nip it in the bud!";)

Range Report

Ah.....refreshed. Nothing like blowin shit up!

So, range report: the smooth and shiny wood grips felt good. I never felt any loss of grip at all. (Haven't pistols had smooth wood grips for hundreds of years? I digress.) In fact, I like the feel of the wood. Just like sex, I don't miss the rubber at all.

The WC spring and mags continue to deliver rounds flawlessly AND the night sights were just what the eye doctor ordered. I can flat out see the sights better.

Did they help? Well, that is hard to quantify, but I'd say yes to the tune of about 10% better. I didn't keep score or anything, but most rounds are in a tighter circle. I still had the inevitable righty 8 o'clock stray or two, and about 5 more that were outside the smallest circle. So, by rough estimate, I shot about 10% better.
