Was just at my local Walmart. Their ammo case was full! 22,.380, 9mm,40S&W, .357 mag, 38 spl, 45ACP and a lot of rifle and shotgun ammo. The .22 was CCI Minimags 100 round boxes, I couldn't see the price real well but I think it said $12.95.

Agree. Let's hope it stays that way.

I don't want to hear about all the ammo falling off the shelves at your Walmart, the one by me doesn't sell ammo and if they did I wouldn't go in it, it's posted. Between Sunday, Monday and today I hit 8 different stores, no .22 or .380. I haven't been able to buy a .22 in over a year. I got a new Kimber .22 conversion kit for my birthday last May and have yet to shoot it.

Walmart doesn't seem to have a chain wide policy. My local one sells ammo only. Go one town in either direction and they both sell firearms. .22 is starting to show up around here more frequently. Hopefully you'll start to see some soon!

Cabellas here i n StLou just had a sale on 22lr on Saturday.A box of 1000 for $50.People were lined up around the building at 4am..Goes to show you how desperate some are to grab them up.I have a 1958 Mossberg Palimino 400 22 lever action in mint condition that I bought in October and have yet to shoot it because of the shortage..Our range just received about 200 boxes of 380's in on Saturday..

The nearest Cabellas to me is a little over two hours away. I heard they had the same thing there.

Due to a new state law requiring all weapons transactions to place in the presence of a gun dealer, Walmart here, across the state, has abandoned the weapons business. They still have ammo shelves, but not much on them.

Its hit and miss around here. Especially for .22. I just check every time I'm in a Wal Mart, Bass Pro, and LGS. I've been pretty lucky. Three different times at Bass Pro (twice in Macon and once in Lawrenceville) in the fall I had great timing and was able to get a brick each time. They typically last a few hours before running out.

I still have plenty of 22lr left (cci mini mags) with $8.99 sticker on them before the frenzy. However, if and when I need it I will go to Gunbroker.com and just order there as long as they are scarce. Mini mags are the only rounds that work in my .22's without feeding issues and great accuracy. And I notice an additional kick between the 36gr and 40gr but both work just fine. I absolutely hate driving to a store time after time hearing "we're out of it"...what a waste of time for me.
I always bring one of the .22's with me to the range and usually shoot it. That said, I always bring an "extra" .45 I leave in the truck in case the one I'm shooting has issues.

Had to go to Toledo on business this morning. On the way out of town I stopped at Gander Mountain. They had a lot of ammo too, (no .22) but holey crap were they expensive. I bought WWB 230 gr yesterday at Walmart for $38 per 100 rounds. Same thing at Gander was $59.95!
